Hot Tubs and Spas

Most Hot Tubs require a 220 volt, 50 amp GFCI circuit. Some smaller ones are designed to operate off of a 20 amp 120 volt. circuit  The cost depends upon how far away from your electric panel the Tub is to be located. The price ranges from about $400 at the low end up to as much as $1200 for a more difficult installation. You'll want to be sure your electric service panel can handle the additional circuit. Most newer homes can. The building code also requires that you have a regular 120 volt GFCI receptacle nearby. The back of most houses already have one on these near enough to meet the requirement.
