Electrician working

Since opening in 2005, Oro Valley Lighting and Electric (formerly Progressive Electric) has operated with the deliberate intention of being the finest and most reputable electrical contractor in the Tucson area. We are fiercely proud of what we do, even more so being an independent business. Clients can tell how we value their business, as we make it a point to get to know a little about them or their business. For us, it's about building lasting relationships.

Standing By Our Work

We work with architects, designers, project managers, and property owners all for the benefit of the project. Whether creating a design for a commercial building or rewiring a home, we make it a point to pay attention to the details, and that includes a lot more than the gauge of wire and the number of outlets.

We had the electrician install a new 110 outlet, and repair several items: outside electrical panel, dishwasher and garbage disposal wiring. Later we called back with an electrical question unrelated to the work he performed and got good advice about the problem we thought we had.

It went great. Jesse was on time, friendly and professional. The price was fair. We got the work done that we needed quickly and reasonably. he gave good advice about future projects we are considering. We'll definitely use them again if we need to. Approximate Cost: $250.00

The Electrician was very professional! He showed up on time and was ready to work. He came to fix our ceiling fan, exhaust in the bathroom, and repair some can lights that kept burning out. He was very efficient and polite. He needed to go to the store to get some new parts and stopped his time on the clock until he returned again (which was very quick). And then he started working immediately. He was neat and got the job done right. I would definitely recommend them and will use him again to place outdoor lighting near our grill. Approximate Cost: $150.00

I recently purchased a house and there was some work that needed to be done that was not completed before closing of the house. I called Mr. Davis and his team and they came out to bring up the breaker box up to code, they properly installed the power to the sprinkler system, also they installed a Chandelier in my dining room with a new switch, and they investigated a few broken switches and some false fixtures. They helped me determine how the house was actually wired/remodeled.
Everyone was very helpful, professional, and commited to doing the job and doing it right. I would hire them again for any electrical work. Approximate Cost: $300.00

Replaced 5 smoke detectors throughout the house. I had a circuit breaker in the living room that kept popping. Fixed the circuit breaker. Checked the vent fan over the stove. Secured pipe going to sprinkler box.
I was informed on my original phone call the cost per hour to come out. There were no surprises. Everything was done in a professional manner. Everything being done was explained to me. Approximate Cost: $325.00

We lost our lighting due to circuit over load with a new portable air conditioner installed on a Saturday afternoon close to Oro Valley Electric's closing hour. The owner was very nice and sent Jesse out to asses and possibly fix our problem that afternoon. Within the hour he arrived, he made a quick and easy diagnosis and fixed the problem for us at no charge due to the ease with which he fixed it. When we prepared to remodel our kitchen we will definitely call Oro Valley Lighting & Electric again. Thanks, Melanie and Joe D.

Main breaker switch on my town home needed to be replaced. Oro Valley Electric responded to my request right away. They came out to my unit within an hour of my call at no charge to tell me what was wrong. He was willing and able to fix the breaker that very day. Within hours, my breaker was replaced and my tenant was able to have her electricity turned on. I was very impressed with his helpfulness and willingness to make my problem his first priority. He even said, when there is a situation like this he drops everything he is doing and gets out there right away so that the person can get their power on ASAP. This type of customer service is hard to find! Approximate Cost: $135.00

Installed hall light wall box, niche light, dedicated microwave circuit, backyard floodlight, 2 interior garage lights (I supplied the lights), 2 exterior coach light boxes, 3 exterior GFI receptors with switch, exterior waterproof receptor under main panel, 2 ceiling boxes for pendants in kitchen, 20 amp small appliance circuit with 3 receptors for kitchen; re-hung chandelier using heavy duty support rod; moved 3 foyer switches and added 2 more; extended 3 cables in attic; installed microwave in new kitchen cabinets; cut channel in concrete floor and ran power to new kitchen island; repositioned outlet in new sink base cabinet used for disposal and dishwasher. Garry and his assistant Irv were great. They were here several times to complete my long list of projects. A couple times when I called Garry about what was happening with other areas of my remodeling that affected the electrical, Garry managed to come over that same day and address the issues. They did a good job and the price was good not to mention they were very nice people. One of the other remodeling contractors that was here when Garry came over even had Garry go to his house for a quote. He returns calls and came across as a very honest person. Approximate Cost: $350.00

Installed fans, new light switch, & repaired front light. Jesse was fabulous--did a superior job. I have my permanent company for all electrical work. Approximate Cost: $400.00

Oro Valley Electric ran a 20A 120V line from my sub-panel in my garage to the back patio for my hot tub. Overall excellent service. Garry was came out on a Thursday to give me the quote and stated the work could be scheduled for the following Monday. The electrician was on time and very friendly. Everything was explained to me. The work looks great and my hot tub is up and running. Approximate Cost: $400.00

Garry put together and installed a ceiling fan and balanced it. Installed a large dining room light and put it on a 3-way dimmer switch. Installed a small kitchen chandelier light. Changed a switch in my bathroom so the fan can turn on independently of the light. Installed a single electrical outlet in my garage to be used for a refrigerator. Garry was on-time, worked quickly in my opinion, and also explained to me everything that he was doing. His pricing is very competitive. He is a licensed-bonded-insured electrician. I am completely satisfied. He will now be called for any future electrical work we need done.Approximate Cost: $307.00
